Why 15 Million People Can't be Wrong & Like to Join Us For Modern Meat Free Lunch ?

WHY IS GETTING OUTSIDE SO IMPORTANT?

There’s science to back it up: merely being in the great outdoors is shown to

  • lower blood pressure

  • reduce levels of the stress hormone cortisol

  • deliver a healthy dose of mood-boosting vitamin D.

  • cardiovascular exercise, meanwhile, is equally important and (we should be aiming for 150 minutes a week - a minimum of increased heart rate exercise) releases smile-inducing endorphins and dopamine.

  • the Mental Health Foundation confirms: “Even a short burst of 10 minutes’ brisk walking increases our mental alertness, energy and positive mood.”

WHY NORDIC WALK?

I know that many of you already know about the many benefits, but this article from the Harvard Medical School Health Letter is a great reminder.

Also, do have a look at this suggesting that Nordic Walking can help patients recovering from Breast Cancer

FIND OUT ABOUT MY WALKS?

All the walks and courses I run are on my page here https://exercise-anywhere.com/instructor/32012-Rachel+Carter

*NEW WALK VENUE ADDED*

Check out the walk(s) at Compton Abbas - walking up to the beacon at Melbury and around Fontmell Down. The start point is the carpark at the top of Spread Eagle Hill ( just before the turning to the airfield on the LHS). It's a hilly route but only around 3 miles. Amazing views of Dorset and Wiltshire and a cafe at the airfield opposite for those who would like it afterwards?

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about any of the walks or indeed if you have suggestions for walks that aren't too muddy?

When we Nordic Walk we combine a cardiovascular workout with an upper-body strength workout, whilst checking out our amazing countryside and meeting new people ...what's not to like!

LIKE TO COME & LEARN ABOUT MODERN MEAT FREE COOKERY?

Following a Nordic walk where we chatted about how some of us eat these days and are reducing meat, we thought about running a Modern Meat Free Lunch on Weds 4th March 12.30 pm in Hindon at my house?

It would be very relaxed and a chance to chat, eat and try out new recipes with some of the lesser-known ingredients that are around.

Cost £5 plus voluntary donation to Dorothy House Hospice ( the charity I'm running the Bath Half Marathon for March 15th)

If anyone is interested ( apart from those I already know about) do drop me an email?
