Why Nordic walk not just walk?

I’ve recently qualified to teach Nordic walking, which is so exciting. Some of you are life long converts I know and others may wonder what walking with poles is all about….here’s a few facts to get you started.

Nordic walking is like being on a cross trainer but better …you’re outdoors, breathing in fresh air, taking in the scenery, flora and fauna. Nordic walking is a great all body workout, that works muscles as well as giving you a cardio workout too.

Whatever your goal

  • Improving your fitness levels

  • Losing weight

  • Overcoming a medical condition

  • Training for a specific sport or challenge

  • Enjoying the great outdoors

Or simply………….Meeting people and having fun! Nordic Walking is a great way to get your whole body moving and to significantly improve the condition of your muscles, heart and lungs. It will boost your energy levels and help you to ward off medical conditions such as:

  • Heart Disease and Strokes

  • High Blood pressure

  • Diabetes (type 2)

  • Bowel Cancer

  • Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis

  • Stress and Anxiety
